Important Insurance Questions
Following are some important questions to ask your insurance provider before your session, if you plan on using your insurance benefits:
-
Do my benefits have mental and/or substance use disorder coverage?
-
Are telehealth visits covered by my insurance?
-
Do I have a deductible to meet before my benefits will pay for my sessions?
-
Do I have a co-pay and/or a percentage to pay for my sessions?
-
If my insurance is not in-network, do I have out-of-network benefits? How or what will I be reimbursed for out of network sessions?
-
Is my policy a Medicare policy? If your insurance is associated with Medicare through another insurance company (like United, BC/BS, etc., then Root to Rise is not in-network with your insurance.
-
I want to see Mike Yow but will my insurance company cover my sessions? Please email through the website contact form and we can do a brief consultation to talk further about this. If you do not have a history of substance use, then you will not be able to use your insurance benefits if you want to see Mike. We are happy to provide you with a super bill to submit directly to your insurance.
Please note, insurance benefits can be confusing. Most of these questions can be easily answered by calling the customer service or mental health line on the back of your insurance card. While Root to Rise MAY verify your benefits as a courtesy, ultimately it is your responsibility to know what your coverage benefits are.
