EMDR and Brainspotting
Brainspotting and EMDR are two brain-based therapies that have been endorsed by leading trauma experts. Research shows that experiences and events that shape behavior, thoughts, and feelings are stored subcortically in the brain. These therapies access those experiences in a way that traditional talk therapy does not. They are able to reduce the emotional reactivity and intensity of the memory so that your past does not feel like it is in your present.

Addiction and Recovery
Addictive behaviors are scary and can wreak havoc in the lives of the addicted person and everyone around them. For some, alcohol, drugs or other addictive behaviors are a way to manage the difficulties other mental health issues can create. For others, addiction creates symptoms that mimic mental health related symptoms. We will work together to assess your relationship with addictive behaviors and how they are in your way of living the life you truly deserve. If you are a family member or loved one of an addicted person, we will identify ways that you can take care of yourself and support your loved one.

Trauma Recovery
Trauma is any experience that overwhelms the brain's natural ability to cope. Traumatic memories are different than other memories. Sometimes there is no memory at all. The first step to healing from trauma is finding and establishing safety both in my office and within yourself. We will use a variety of approaches in your treatment to support you in transcending what has happened.
Grief and Loss
Grief is a universal experience: whether the loss is the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, job or career transition, chronic health issues, trauma, caregiver burnout, etc. Grief and loss are woven into our daily lives and when your grief is unresolved, it can become anxiety, depression, panic, etc. I will support you as you move through your grief so that you can move with your life again.
